My Priorities as Your MLA
STOP WASTING MONEY - I know your own budget is pushed to the limit. I have knocked on hundreds of doors in Edmonton Decore and I hear time and time again that people are having a hard time in this economy. I will fight to make sure the government balances the provincial budget and reduces out of control spending. I will keep an eye on borrowing and work to keep taxation under control. I will work to eliminate government waste, senseless programs, uncontrolled spending and inefficiency.
CUT CARBON TAX - The Alberta NDP government went along with the federal Liberals to implement a Carbon Tax that penalizes Albertans for driving their cars and heating their homes. The Carbon Tax has got to go. I will do everything in my power to see this unjust and useless tax burden is taken off the backs of Albertans.
GET FAIR PRICE FOR ALBERTA OIL - Albertans are losing millions of dollars every month because we do not have an effective way to sell our oil. The world still needs Alberta oil, and we need pipelines to reach the lucrative markets that could put billions of dollars back into Alberta. I will work to get the infrastructure we need to get our clean, safe energy products to world markets.
CREATE QUALITY CAREERS - Alberta needs quality jobs with benefits, good salary, and potential for advancement. We don’t need any more burger flipping jobs! Our province can become a world leader in medical research, agriculture and food products, and computer science. We need a government that will foster business and attract successful companies to the province.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT - Our clean air, pure water and untouched wilderness are priceless assets. We intend to keep them that way. We will make sure that industries and corporations follow strict rules regarding emissions and waste. We will look at renewable energy options to reduce emissions.
BUILD A HOSPITAL IN NORTH EDMONTON - North Edmonton has not had a new hospital in decades, yet our population continues to grow at an incredible rate. I will work to get a full service hospital built in North Edmonton to satisfy the needs of area residents.
